The Seattle Robotics Society, in association with Trinity College (Hartford CT), are sponsoring a Fire Fighting Home Robot Contest. Trinity has been holding this contest for several years with great success. In an effort to get more people involved, Trinity has asked the Seattle Robotics Society to hold a regional contest for robot builders in the Northwest. This contest is open to all.
The contest is scheduled for March 28st, 1998 at the Renton Technical College cafeteria. The official contest will start at 2pm. The contest arena will be available from 10am until 1pm on the day of the contest, as well as on the dates listed below.
The contest is open to the public. Admission is free for those who would like to come watch.
The top three robots from the Northwest Regional Fire Fighting Home Robot Contest will qualify for entry into the main Trinity College contest to be held April 19th, 1998.
Keep checking the SRS Website for news about the Northwest Regional contest. If you are interested, you may want to check out The 1998 Fire-Fighting Home Robot Contest official website.
All contestant robots are required to register and submit a $30 entry fee ($25 if submitted on or before March 10th). This fee is non-refundable. The fees are used to cover the costs of producing the event. Individuals may enter more than one robot, but each robot is considered a seperate contestant and therefore each robot is subject to the entry fee.
The SRS contest arena will be available in the afternoon of Febuary 21st, and the afternoon of March 21st from 1pm until 4pm after our regular monthly meeting. See Our Regular Meetings for times and locations.
